Doane University has announced the 258 students named to the Dean’s List for Spring 2016. Students must achieve a minimum 3.7 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and hold 12 graded hours to qualify for this academic distinction.

Each year on every third Monday of January people across the nation and around the world are celebrating Martin Luther King Jr.

A total of 191 graduate and undergraduate students received degrees on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 1 p.m. in the George and Sally Haddix Recreation & Athletic Center at Doane University’s campus in Crete.

Doane University presented eight alumni awards to nine individuals at the annual awards banquet held in conjunction with the college’s Homecoming events Sunday, October 16. Recipients of this year’s awards included: India Williams (Kansas City, Missouri), Patricia Mahar (Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida), Fred Ritter (Columbus), Ruth Olsen (Lincoln), John and Leslie Allbery (Denver, Colorado), Craig Coppersmith (Elkhorn), John Lothrop (Crete) and Dr. Brenda Neumon Lewis (Norfolk, Virginia).

Doane University will host a screening of “Eating You Alive”, a feature-length documentary revealing the truth behind why Americans are so sick and what we can do about it. It will be held on Sunday, October 30 at 2:30 p.m. in Doane’s Heckman Auditorium in Crete.
