Payment Plans

Doane University offers a monthly payment plan through Nelnet to help students more easily afford their college expenses. This tuition management plan provides a low-cost plan for budgeting tuition and other education expenses. It is not a loan program; therefore, there is no debt, no interest or finance charges assessed, and no credit checks. Nelnet charges a non-refundable enrollment fee of $25 per semester ($10 for adult learners with Employer Reimbursement Benefits).

E-Checks & Debit/Credit Cards

On WebAdvisor, select Registration Statement/Student Account Services and follow the instructions for your payment method. A $30 fee will be charged for a returned payment.
E-Checks: No convenience fee.
Debit/Credit Card: We accept all major credit card companies. Please note: A 2.75% convenience fee will be charged.

Traditional Checks

You may deliver checks in person to any of our campuses.

International Payments

Doane University has partnered with Flywire to streamline the international payment process. Flywire allows you to pay securely from any country and any bank, typically in your home currency.
By making your payment with Flywire, you can:

  • Track your payments from start to finish.
  • Save on bank fees and exchange rates.
  • Contact their multi-lingual customer support team with ay questions, day or night.

Student Choice Refunds

We encourage students to enroll in direct deposit for their student account refunds. Direct deposit allows for a fast deposit without the hassle of picking up and depositing a paper check. Follow the steps in the document below to set up your direct deposit.

Q. Why are you changing the credit card payment procedures?
A. Nelnet will accept credit cards, a vendor contracted by the College that charges a fee for its service. Our vendor determined the convenience fee amount for each transaction, and Doane will not receive any part of the service charge. While credit card payments offer convenience to students and their families, the cost to the College became unreasonably expensive. Therefore, the College decided to require those who use this convenience to cover its value.
Our vendor, Nelnet, is also certified to process credit card transactions in compliance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS), another significant factor in moving credit card processing online.

Q. Are other colleges and universities making similar changes?
A. Many colleges and universities are either charging a convenience fee or have stopped accepting all credit cards.

Q. Are there payment options other than via the Internet?
A. Doane will continue to accept cash and check payments in the Business office in the Padour-Walker Administration Building on the Crete Campus as well as payments by check received through the U.S. mail, with no fees. You may deliver checks in person on the Lincoln, Omaha, Grand Island, and Crete campuses.
