Initial Program Satisfaction of Employers and Stakeholder Involvement

Measure 2: Satisfaction of Employers and Stakeholder Involvement

STAKEHOLDER INVOLVEMENT

Doane University Initial Programs Engage P-12 Partner groups in a variety of collaborative partnerships. P-12 partners develop agreements with Doane Educator Preparation Programs to support clinical experiences for candidates. P-12 partners also engage in annual assessment/advisory meetings with initial program directors and faculty. During the Fall of 2022 the primary focus of the advisory meeting for the initial program was looking at recent completer data from Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) 1st and 3rd years surveys as well as initial program dispositions data with a focus and giving feedback on the dispositions instrument in use.

SATISFACTION OF EMPLOYERS

Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) administers the Nebraska First Year Teacher Survey and Third Year Survey both to the principals and to the first year teachers (Spring 2020).  Evaluation indicators are based on Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) and Interstate Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (InTASC) Model Core Teaching Standards, 2011.

2020-2021 Survey 1st Year Teacher Principal Survey
Doane University response rates:  First year teacher survey by principals:  75%
Statewide response rates: First year teacher survey by principals: 58%

First year teachers employed in the 2020-2021 school year are May 2020 graduate completers at the initial undergraduate level and 2019-2020 cohort completers in the Initial Certification at the Advanced Level.  (Data from NDE assessment Employer Survey by Principals)
