Doane’s Crete campus buzzed with activity all through August as students returned to campus, moved into dorms and started a new academic year. Events to welcome new students included a candle-lighting at Cassel Theatre and Bingo Bonanza, a Playfair event full of break-the-ice and get-to-know-you activities on Papik Field, and an opportunity to meet friends in the residence halls with a movie, glow-in-the-dark games and late-night snow cones.

Celebrations continued the following week as upperclassmen returned to campus. Students were invited to rock out to a concert featuring A Ferocious Jungle Cat, enjoy a barbecue dinner and get to know members of campus clubs and student organizations, and participate in a lemonade social.

On the Lincoln campus, too, students received a welcome from the Writing Center and Academic Support Center with bingo, Doane trivia and a drawing for prizes. Lincoln students are also invited to participate in monthly writing exercises themed around positivity.
